It’s been a wild week. I spoke for the first time at our weekend service yesterday. It is a huge responsibility/honor/deal to speak to people on God’s behalf. I realized early in the week that the only way I could do this is to totaly humble myself and beg for God to show up.

God was good to me. I wasn’t that nervous but he kept me hanging on some of the things that he wanted me to say until I actually spoke, which is a little scary.

I talked about Jonathan and how just like him, we will face people with potential and we can help them or hinder them.

It was cool but I am glad Jeff is back and I am looking forward to the rest of our current series and gearing up for the fall.

Wow, this last year has flown by. It is fastly approaching the point last year when God called us to plant Lifepoint Church in Wilmington, NC. When we first felt God moving in us about this church, I thought, this is cool in 18 to 24 months we may live in a different city, have all new friends and we would be reaching a totally different group of people. That was 11 months ago and we have been here for 7 months. So much for my plan.

This is a new deal for me. Stepping out and going in to ministry 3 years ago was big, but planting this church is huge. Back home I could sometimes hide behind the spirituality of other staff members and Matt, but here, so goes Jeff and me, so goes the spiritual temperature of the church.

I am starting this blog for 2 reasons. The first is spiritual accountability. I plan to use these pages to talk about what God is doing in my life, in the life of Lifepoint and in Wilmington. The second is to journal this journey we are on. God has been so good to us and I want to remember every minute of it. So I may reflect a lot of what has happenend this past year, before I go current. Who knows? That’s it for now.
